Superb «sound and light» effects highlight the magnificent baroque roots of the Priory of Peillonnex, whose construction dates back to the 12th century. A monument that revives 10 centuries of history by mixing roman and baroque art. A large page of history to be discovered in the heart of the village of Peillonnex, situated at the foot of the vestiges of the Sires de Faucigny chateau.

Open from September through June, every first Sunday of the month: 2:00-6:00 pm,
in July and August, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday: 2:00-6:00 pm, with sound and light every hour until 5:00 pm.

Toujours animées de la même volonté de sensibiliser le public à la conservation des biens culturels, les Journées du Patrimoine consacrent leur édition 2006 aux jardins. Du jardin du cloître à celui de la maison de maître, en passant par le jardin potager, le jardin à la française, le jardin anglais, le parc public, le jardin botanique ou encore le cimetière qui invite à la méditation: le patrimoine horticole suisse se révéle être étonnamment riche et diversifié. Un événement à suivre en construisant son propre itinéraire à travers les cantons.

Whether exotic or hardy, rustic or medicinal, the plants in bloom at the foot of the Alps transform this region, which has a rather harsh climate, into an extraordinary garden. Guided tour through the botanical paradise.

Tropicaland:

Yuccas, carnivorous plants, «Désespoir des singes», caramel trees or the blue bean shrub, there's no stopping Olivier Sourisse and Laurent Bouvard, creators of this exceptional garden. In order to succeed in a gamble which in principle could seem to be a little insane, the two enthusiasts bet on the «rustics», plants which are immune to cold, and took advantage of the microclimate prevalent in all gardens. Through sheer hard work and patience, they have created an extraordinary biotope containing 4000 plants and 450 species. Its two creators will enthusiastically show you around this unusual place inhabited today by kangaroos, blue peacocks, flying squirrels, alpacas and raccoons.
