Le Colvert Print

ImageThis terrace, in perfect symbiosis with the lake, is part of a residential area suspended on stilts. Le Colvert is the gastronomic wing of Palafitte, a five-star heritage lake-dwelling built for Expo '02. It offers a tasty regional menu and – Colvert's main attraction – an extraordinary selection of original wines. This place is very popular among the clock-making clientele, Outre-Sarine residents and a few of the nostalgic people from the National Expo.

Restaurant Le Colvert, Hôtel Palafitte, Route des Gouttes-d’Or 2 (locate), 2000 Neuchâtel, Tel +41 (0)32 723 02 02, www.palafitte.ch. To access to the the article about accomodation at Hotel Palafitte, click here

La Pinte de Pierre-à-Bot: Happiness is on the green Print

ImageA terrace surrounded by nature, adjoining an ancient golf club-house built in the 1920s. It serves simple, yet delicious, delicacies at great prices, as well as twenty types of fondues for cool evenings. The view plunges down to the lake, and it's difficult to believe that you're just a few minutes away from the centre of Neuchâtel. Ideal for a beautifully pastoral lunch during the summer, or a "cosy" meal in the dining room during the rest of the year or on rainy days.

Pinte de Pierre-à-Bot, rue Pierre-à-Bot 106 (locate). By car or from the Bus 9 terminus (Denis de Rougemont), take the path through the forest (10 min. on foot).

La Pierre-à-Bot exists: come find it!

L'Aparté à Colombier: the lounge between lake and forest Print

ImageOutside, there's a terrace with its feet in the water, where boats and Pedaloes bustle about. And inside, enjoy the simple lounge-style setting, left over from Expo 02. A conventional menu that still dares to explore new territory. For example, try the lemon taboule, terrine chicken with caramelized peaches, or pinot gris foie gras.  A friendly welcome and a nice variety of local wines.

Le buffet d’un tram Print

ImageUnder the chestnut tree or in the chestnut tree? This charming restaurant's terrace offers you the choice for the less original. Its gigantic tree is big enough to shelter a table for two under the foliage. This «intimate alternative» allows you to quietly savour the market cuisine. The menu offers «cafe-style» meals, such as Neuchâtel tripe served with stuffed foie gras, and mussels. This «buffet» has the ambiance of a commercial cafe, despite the disappearance of the tram, and a friendly atmosphere.

Le buffet d'un tram, 3, avenue François-Borel (locate), www.buffetduntram.ch. . 2016 Cortaillod, Tel +41(0)32 842 29 92. Open 7/7
