Lausanne Roule: free bicycle rental |

Besides Geneva, Berne, Thun and Zurich and more recently Neuchatel, the City of Lausanne participates in the free bicycle rental scheme. The concept provides for the rental of a bicycle on a daily basis to anybody interested. The only condition: pay a security deposit and present official identification papers. Sponsored by the commercial businesses of the region, the idea has nothing but advantages: explore the region, get some exercise and contribute to a good cause, since the program provides jobs and training to asylum seekers and the long term unemployed.

A road through the vineyards |

50 kms of indulgence
It meanders through the countryside from Versoix (GE) to the gates of Lausanne. Follow this road and see another side to Switzerland: vineyards, gastronomic stopovers, craftspeople such as carvers or potters. A guide list of suggestions is updated weekly on the Internet and a passport gives you the benefit of special reductions. Reasons enough to get you started straight away !
