Grenoble Print

ImageCapital of the Alps and Olympic city in 1968, Grenoble benefits from its unique geographical location: the city stretches upto the junction of 3 massifs, the Vercors, the Belledonne range and the Chartreuse. Stendhal said of it: “at the end of each street, a mountain”. A city of modern technology with the Minatec center, a renowned university hub, it is also a city of art and history. The historic Center harbours more than one architectural and cultural treasure, including the Place Saint André or the Palais de Justice. A few vestiges of the Bastille fort and of the wall that used to surround Grenoble still remain and are accessible by cable car or, for the more courageous, by a staircase of almost 400 steps. From there, an extraordinary panorama of the city and its suburbs opens up.

Vienne Print

ImageLocated 30 km south of Lyon, along the valley of the Rhône, Vienne has developed between the river and the hills for more than 2000 years, bequeathing a most prestigious architectural heritage. A region full of history, Vienne shelters many Gallo-Roman and medieval vestiges, such as the ancient theatre. So many monuments to admire, even today. Lyon and Vienne together form the richest Gallo-Roman archaeological pole in France

Every summer, for the past 20 years, the ancient theatre of Vienne is transformed into a shrine for musical meetings as part of the «Jazz in Vienne» festival.
