The Zoological Area of Saint Martin la Plaine: Gorilla Station!

Located between Lyon and Saint Etienne, the zoo uncovers its treasures over 12 hectares. 850 animals from 130 different species, and at least as many plants, share this territory, home to the biggest gorilla family in France.

Moreover, the zoo has just expanded, with the addition of a seventh baby and a big new greenhouse for this breed of anthropoid monkeys. Observe the daily life of these animals that are so close to us, and share their tender moments. The park is proud to a member of the European Endangered Species Programmes (EEPs), which work to protect animals in danger of extinction.
