I-WAY Lyon : become a Formula 1 driver!

Forget those static driving simulators, the era of the dynamic « real deal » simulator has arrived! In a building with ultra-pure lines located in Vaise, near the quais of the Saône, I-Way has installed18 professional race simulators. Six Formula Ones, six  endurance cars and six rally cars. It's real, it's hefty, installed on electric jacks, a technique coming from aeronautics that very closely reproduces the sensations of driving on a circuit.

Nothing's been left to chance:  you slip on a jumpsuit, a helmet and gloves before jumping into the driver's seat. A screen to see the course and you`re off! Acceleration, braking, shock absorbers and the noise of the motor, which can climb up to 100dB: with driving sensations that can go up to 2g, we very quickly forget that we`re in a simulator. That`s normal, we are in the world of simulation at « 6 degrees of freedom », which means, in the jargon of the pros, a dynamic simulation in a world that is 3 dimensional. The feeling of reality is so good that I-Way is used for defensive-driving workshops.

Excitement is guaranteed, and sometimes stiff muscles too! But I-WAY has thought of everything by creating a SPA, ultra modern as well, a conditioning room, a lounge, and a restaurant run by the team of the award-winning chef Jean-Christophe Ansannay-Alex from Auberge de l'Ile. The better to enjoy a warrior`s R&R!
