Annecy

Located on the verdant banks of Lake Annecy and nestled in rock, this town, also know as «Little Venice» , has attracted tourists since time immemorial. From Henri IV to Eugene Sue including J.J. Rousseau, it hosted a number of distinguished guests. This fascination also sparked the construction of luxury hotels, at the end of the 19th century, which were used, more or less, as temporary residences by British and Russian cosmopolitan clientele. Declared a «health resort»  in 1936 for its putative properties of fresh air and pure water, the city turned its lake into a vast space dedicated to well-being and relaxation. A city that has been able to preserve its pedestrian zones and its old buildings as a reminder of the splendour and exceptional richness of its past.

Chambéry

The cradle and capital of Savoie harbours an exceptional historical heritage. Italian Chambéry, heart of the Savoie states in the 11th century and placed under the jurisdiction of France in 1860, is a history lesson in itself. Do not hesitate to explore its pedestrian zones, its «alleys»  or to visit the imposing château des Ducs de Savoie, the Grand Carillon, the Saint François Cathedral and its museums, without, of course, forgetting the famous fountain «des Eléphants» . And then, the summer evenings, musicians, storytellers or actors recreate the ambience of that period. A blast of nostalgia that brings to mind a period of time when the gentleness of these prealpine landscapes, the banks of Lake Bourget in the Combe de Savoie and its vineyards charmed Lamartine and Rousseau.

Aix les Bains

The second largest thermal spa in France, Aix les Bains has all the assets of a true seaside city, coupled with a proximity to the mountain. Albertville

Situated along the road to the massifs du Beaufortain, Val d'Arly and Tarentaise, Albertville offers an astonishing contrast between Olympic city and medieval City (Conflans). Beaufortain and the Val d'Arly present a unique picture: Mount Blanc in the background, villages in bloom on the hillside, dam reservoirs of a deep blue colour, verdant mountain pastures in bloom, dairy cows grazing peacefully and used for production of the succulent cheeses Beaufort and Reblochon.
