In 1967, six wine-producers from Le Bugey decided to share their skills and know-how and create the Bugey Cellar.

They grow their vines independently and then bring their pickings to the association, where it's all turned into wine. Together they maintain 45ha (Vongnes, Ceyzerieu, Flaxieu, Cheigneu la Balme and Virieu le Grand) on clay-limestone slopes.

The different vines (Pinot, Chardonnay, Mondeuse and Jacquère) produce close to 30 labels, which include sparkling, white, red and even alcohol (Bugey marc and brandy)

The Bugey Cellar also features a slide-show, a museum of the wine-making traditions, as well as stone tools.  A great way to keep the children entertained while the adults sample wine!
