ImageTourist destination par excellence, the Drôme Provençale offers a wide range of activities and sites to visit. Here is a selection of some of them, among many others:

The egg museum in Soyans: a small surprising museum, funny at times, that will show you a variation on the theme of the universal egg: natural crocodile eggs, spider eggs, dinosaur eggs, painted and sculpted eggs, symbolism of the egg, witch gardens... The egg will hold no more secrets for you!

The palace of sweets and nougats in Montélimar: for those of you who wish to know everything about the delicious nougat of Montélimar, also features a 5 senses display revolving around sweets that will delight children as well as grown-ups.

La Bégude-de-Mazenc: An adorable old perched village, former stronghold of the Templar, where it feels good just strolling down the quaint narrow streets.

Le Château de Grignan: The famous castle where the Marquise de Sévigné lived is located on a rocky promontory overlooking the village. The castle is remarkable, as much because of its exterior renaissance frontage as because of its high quality interior furniture. A must see!

The Maison de la Truffe et du Tricastin (House of the truffle and the Tricastin) in St Paul-Trois-Châteaux: Here you will learn all about the famous "Diamant Noir" (the Black Diamond) that grows in the region of the Tricastin and Richerenches. You will also have the opportunity to taste the wines of the Coteaux-du-Tricastin that are presented in the cellar.

Huilerie Richard in Nyons (oil factory): The black olives in Nyons, of the Tanches variety, were the first vintage olives to get the AOC label. The Maison Richard offers a wide range of high quality, locally pressed organic oils. Not to be missed!

Hikes on foot: The Drôme Provençale is rich with exceptional sites for those who love walking. You will find marked trails in most of the districts. Well detailed itineraries in the form of Randocartes-Randoguides are available from the shops and the tourism offices of the Drôme Provençale.

Mozart Festival in Saou: Each year, the lovely little village of Saou celebrates Mozart. A quality and varied festival with great performers who bring selected pieces of W. A. Mozart to the stage. From 28th June to 15th July 2008.

Université du Vin in Suze-la-Rousse: A world recognized training centre within the wine circle with a wide range of courses. There you may also attend a one day training into the tasting of wine: « Samedi Sensation Vin » (Saturday Wine Sensation). Don't miss a visit to the castle, it's really worth it.
