On what do snails feed? Who are their predators or furthermore how do they reproduce? Sebastien, the snail breeder (or «heliciculturist»), will be delighted to present his breeding of «Gros gris» to you, and invite you to taste his extraordinary products. There is his «Escargotine», a snail mousse seasoned with garlic and shallot and also his «Escapéro», to be tasted on a piece of toast. Impossible to resist the aperitif!!!

St-Gingolph prête son magnifique village pour une première: une course de caisses à savon comptant pour la coupe suisse. Et qui dit coupe, dit technique. Le trajet de 900m accuse en effet un dénivelé de 85m - pour une vitesse pouvant atteindre 80km/h - sur lequel les concurrents devront négocier trois virages serrés. Si 80 licenciés sont attendus dans la catégorie side-car et monoplace, tout le monde peut tester la piste en hors course au volant de «carriolis», soit des voitures de construction plus ou moins personnelle. Alors en route pour le «Speed down», appellation anglo-saxonne qui rappelle que le phénomène est né aux Etats-Unis dans les années trente d’un fabricant de savons qui a eu l’idée géniale de mettre des roues à ses caisses pour permettre aux enfants de dévaler les pentes à toute vitesse.

The Haute-Savoie is at the root of all challenges. If rock climbing was named after a gorge in the Salève that was conquered by a group of Genevans at the end of the 19th century, then paragliding was born on the summit of Pertuiset in Mieussy. In fact, on June 27th 1978 André Bohn, Jean Claude Bétemps and Gerard Bosson were the first people to attempt and succeed in jumping off a cliff. The main motivation of these three parachuting enthusiasts: to reduce the cost of flying by plane. This first successful attempt led Gerard Bosson a little later to establish the first paragliding club: a new sport had been born.
