Squares are the heart of each city. They are the ideal place to meet people and to find every kind of activities. In Carouge, squares are unavoidable ! For centuries, they have been crossed on by villagers and foreigners. Some of them welcome us, other ones - in town center - invite the visitors to discover them. Do you know that one of Carouge's squares has changed his shape five times ? Do you know that others two were born fortunately ? And that nowadays the importance of one of them is due to the Carouge's biggest square disappearance ? A social-cultural point of view and an urban planning approach let you discover the history of each square and its particular character. You will find the hidden links between the squares and the recently public squares' development

52 meters of keep and... 900 years of history await you ! Surrounded by gardens, the Tower of Crest – which is, incidentally, the highest keep in France – allows for a breathtaking view of the surrounding area from its terraced gardens. You will also want to discover the interior design that will reveal the two lives of the monument: the medieval keep (12th -15th c.), with its defence systems and stately residence, and the prison tower (15th – 19th c.) which still bears the touching graffiti of the prisoners as a witness to their presence. Open throughout the year.

60 ans déjà pour les nuits de Fourvière qui ont élu domicile un certain 29 juin 1946 dans les Théâtres romains de Lyon revenus ainsi à la vie après des siècles d’abandon. Pour cette édition anniversaire, le Festival reste fidèle à lui-même en présentant un programme aussi éclectique que privilégiant la qualité. Parmi les têtes d'affiche 2006: Bartabas et Sting, Shakespeare et Bill T. Jones, Julien Clerc et Mozart ou encore Philip Glass et Keith Jarret.

Nouvelle mouture pour les rencontres claudéliennes qui ont lieu presque chaque année au château de Brangues. Intitulée «Une scène pour le dire» l’édition 2006, constituée de lectures et d'entretiens, mettra en valeur l’environnement du château pour invoquer l'importance de l'art de la scène. Une idée que n'aurait certainement pas reniée le grand écrivain qui a acquis le château de Brangues en 1927.
