Eleventh edition of «Les classiques de Villars»: 24-28.02

{mosimag}Classical music devotees, don't miss the traditional winter meeting of Villars. For their eleventh edition, «Les classiques de Villars» will offer you the return of the Kazan Chamber Orchestra, Transfigured Night from Arnold Schönberg, Chopin, Brahms, Dvorak and on February 25th, «lighter» music with interpretations from Claude Bolling's «Jazz Suite».

Les classiques de Villars: 12-16.02.2008

Inconditionnels de musique dite classique, ne manquez pas le rendez-vous aussi hivernal que traditionnel de Villars.

Pour sa douzième édition, «Les classiques de Villars» démarreront sur une note italienne avec l'ouverture de l'opéra «La pie voleuse» de Giaocchino Rossini et la «La Campanella» de Niccolo Paganini. Un programme qui fait également la part belle aux compositeurs russes avec notamment la Suite n° 4 en sol majeur op. 61 «Mozartiana» de Tchaïkovski, les oeuvres de Mikhaïl Ivanovitch Glinka et l'incontournable «Pierre et le Loup» de Sergueï Prokofiev avec l'Orchestre symphonique de Belgorod et la récitante Corinne Rosay. Que du bonheur!

The Carnival is coming!

Can one forget the austerity of Lent - 40 days of fasting before Easter! - its compensation, that is to say the 7 «fat» days of the carnival, is gaining ground all over Switzerland. And this even in the least Catholic regions. This way, the Vaud canton kick-starts its carnivals in February, in keeping with tradition, and carries on into ...April with the Lausanne Carnival. Three festive months to follow!

Mettez-vous en marge de l?art

Le Musée des Beaux-Arts de La Chaux-de-Fonds a décidé de placer l’édition 2005-2006 de sa Biennale sous le signe d’artistes qui se mettent délibérément en marge du monde de l’art. Une occasion stimulante de (re)découvrir par la même occasion un bâtiment «art déco» des Montagnes neuchâteloises et des artistes régionaux et suisses tels que Vallotton, Le Corbusier, L’Eplattenier ou encore Anker.

The Carnival is coming!

Can one forget the austerity of Lent - 40 days of fasting before Easter! - its compensation, that is to say the 7 «fat» days of the carnival, is gaining ground all over Switzerland. The largest number of carnivals is normally found in Valais, one of the most Catholic French-speaking Swiss cantons. In 2008, Sion, Monthey and Martigny get a head start on the others on the 31th of January. Later, all the other cities will see their President hand over the keys of the City to the wizards for one week of festivities.
