Reputation grows quickly: from its fourth edition, the Grande Odysée has emerged as one of the most difficult dog sled races in the world. 1000 Km in two stages, the first one in the territory of Portes du Soleil and the second in Haute Maurienne Vanoise. Added to this 25,000 m of uneven terrain - a distinctive feature compared with other big races that are much flatter - and three non-stop 160 km laps each time. Ending with the difficulties presented by the mountain trails along the route. To take up the challenge, around twenty «mushers»( trainers) from among the best in the world and their approximately 300 dogs. An touching spectacle for some 100,000 spectators waiting along the route marked out by 19 stations, trapper villages or igloos warmed up with hot wine and tartiflettes.

Brévine is not just the Siberia of Switzerland: even if the region is famous mainly for its seasonal icy peaks, it also offers a skiing area and the possibility of walks bathed in sunlight.
