La Pinte de Pierre-à-Bot: Happiness is on the green

ImageA terrace surrounded by nature, adjoining an ancient golf club-house built in the 1920s. It serves simple, yet delicious, delicacies at great prices, as well as twenty types of fondues for cool evenings. The view plunges down to the lake, and it's difficult to believe that you're just a few minutes away from the centre of Neuchâtel. Ideal for a beautifully pastoral lunch during the summer, or a "cosy" meal in the dining room during the rest of the year or on rainy days.

Pinte de Pierre-à-Bot, rue Pierre-à-Bot 106 (locate). By car or from the Bus 9 terminus (Denis de Rougemont), take the path through the forest (10 min. on foot).

La Pierre-à-Bot exists: come find it!

Did you know? The « Pierre-à-Bot »  actually exists. It refers to an erratic block, which probably ran aground here during the last Ice Age, that is shaped like a toad - which is where the name, slightly altered over time, comes from. The bar is a few hundred metres from the restaurant, but isn't that easy to find, even though this big rock is the biggest erratic block from the « Arc Jurassien! »

Golf - Built in 1928, La Pinte served as a club-house to the Neuchâtel golf course, which then had 9 holes. After the 18-hole Voëns golf course was created above St-Blaise, the Pierre-à-Bot Park turned into a public area. Today it offers « swin golf,»  an easier and less expensive version of classical golf (to read the article on swin golf in Pierre-à-Bot, click here)
