Funi-Fondue: 600 metres in 13 minutes |
|
Head for the heights and climb aboard the funicular «La Coudre-Chaumont» . In barely a quarter of an hour, you will climb 600 metres up slopes of 45%. Once at the terminus and if you are not afraid of heights, you can continue on foot and climb the panoramic tower for a plunging view of the Alps and the region of the Trois-Lacs. Famous for its extraordinary panorama, Chaumont is also renowned for its fondue. To keep up the tradition, for 20 francs the Transports Publics Neuchatelois offer a ticket «Funi-Fondue» : this covers the cost of the funicular and a fondue. Incidentally, don’t worry about the consequences of that last little kirsch – an essential part of the Neuchatel-style fondue – the return to town is also taken in hand!
