Maison Forte de Clérivaux: a life's passion

ImageOnce upon a time, almost forty years ago, there was a young couple, both teachers, who fell in love with a 13th century medieval strong house. Austere, mysterious, timeless. Harmoniously integrated into the ocre palette of the sands of the Drôme des Collines, in a protected little valley of the Drôme.

Retired nowadays, Anne and Pierre Josquin keep on consecrating themselves to their passion while welcoming friends and passing visitors to their home. Anne has revived the old vegetable garden, creating a terrassed garden, called Julie's garden, because it was completed the day of the birth of their little girl, a place where we can have our breakfast and where everyone can meet. She has also created the garden of Agathe, geometric, rigourous, on three levels to harbour  her collection of old roses and the garden of Eve, a garden of water and aquatic plants. As for Pierre, these days he is restoring the Chapelle de Gillons, a priory church which in all probability dates back to the 12th century. It's in very bad condition, but not enough to discourage Pierre, who's been yoked to this mission since 2006. A poetic place and a loveable couple to discover in the lush Drôme des Collines.
