When Lyon reveals itself at the pace of the river |

If, until recently, the banks of the river Rhône were mainly used as car parks, they have gotten back their initial destination of use today: a space dedicated to strolling. Thus, while you cover the 5 kilometres between the Parc de la Tête d'Or and the new Gerland neighbourhood, you will cross the entire city of Lyon from North to South. The major part of the walk goes alongside the river, among hundreds of trees of all essences with an unusual view on the two hills of Fourvière and Croix Rousse that overlook the original Renaissance buildings of this World Heritage city.
Not to be missed is the homage done to twelve European women for their professional commitment, among whom are Marie Curie, Melina Mercouri and Queen Astrid; and also the exquisite boat-restaurants that dot the quays and are an invitation for a little rest. A dream of strolling in summer time.
